Product Description: Noted for their Victorian gawkishness, this H.K. Porter Co. tank engine is a visual delight for many modelers. Based on our original 8 ton 0-4-0, this 5 ton engine employs a can motor with a 2:1 belt reduction drive (for quieter operation) which leads to a NWSL mod 5 gearbox -- all of which offers excellent slow speed operation. As with many of our other engines, the drivers are steel with metal side rods. The cab, frame, and boiler are wood with cast metal details.
